Radish Fest at Longmont Farmers Market and BookCliff Vineyards

BookCliff Vineyards is participating in the Radish Fest at the Longmont Farmers Market. Yes, radish and wine pairing. With some research, both personal taste test and Internet search the conclusion is that you want to serve a white wine, slightly sweet with your radish dish. I recommend to adjust the sweetness level depending how spicy the radish is. Some radishes can be really spicy, especially if you have stored it for a week in your fridge. The spicier the radish the sweeter you want to go with your wine. Friday's Folly White is a good start for less spicy and Riesling for a spicy radish. Enjoy!!

Spring in the Vineyard at BookCliff Vineyards

Chardonnay after the storm
2015 has been an early spring in Colorado with warm weather starting in March. Orchards and Vineyards are about three weeks ahead of schedule. But, on April 16th we had a little bit of a scare by having a snowstorm pass through wine country, covering the sprouting vines in a white coat. Luckily the temperatures warmed up and snow turned into rain, gradually defrosting the vines (Chardonnay). Everything is well and good in the vineyard. The vines are looking good just two weeks later.

Riesling two weeks later
