Wine Tours

With summer upon us, we are anxious to get out of the house and start planning some activities. If you're looking for something unique or out of the ordinary, stop by BookCliff Vineyards' Tasting Room and Winery. Here, in Boulder, we actually do all the winemaking in house. Our cellar showcases American and French Oak Barrels, along with stainless steel tanks where wine is being held. You can choose from 18 different wines, including dry whites, dry reds and dessert style. Doors are open and tours are welcomed Thursday - Sunday. For a list of Front Range Wineries, click here. Cheers!

Impressive!

Congratulations to all the award winners at the 2014 Governor's Cup Colorado Winemaking Competition! What a perfect event to showcase the best wines of Colorado. Warren Winiarski happened to be one of the judges this year and was pleased with the varietals brought to the table. “I was truly impressed with the quality and direction of Colorado’s wine producers. The industry has come a long way since I made wine here 46 years ago! Quite a number of the wines I tasted were beyond expressing merely the region but had the character of classics.” said Warren Winiarski, 73' Cabernet Sauvignon winner of the 1976 Judgment of Paris tasting. BookCliff Vineyards won Gold medals for Malbec, Petit Verdot and Friday's Folly White. Every year, a Governor's Cup Case is assembled. This year, our own Malbec and Friday's Folly White were chosen as part of the 2014 collection. Again, congratulations to everyone who entered and we hope to try your wines soon! Great job and happy winemaking Colorado!! Cheers!

2012 Cabernet Franc Release

We've kept you waiting long enough! After a long, fun day of bottling with our staff and volunteers, Cabernet Franc 2012 is ready to be tasted and purchased! This varietal is one of the major grapes grown worldwide, and grows especially well in Colorado. It has been known to be a great competitor in wine judging events and as a Reserve label in Colorado wineries. Our 2012 exhibits nice raspberry, cherry and mocha notes on the nose. It also has some nice acidity on the palate to complement the dark fruit and smooth tannins. Barrel aged for 18 months in French Oak, this wine's many layers is sure to please your senses! Cheers!

It's Time to Tour the Wine Cellar!

“Age is just a number. It’s totally irrelevant unless, of course, you happen to be a bottle of wine.”
― Joan Collins

We have some great Bookcliff Vineyards library wines in our cellar we want to share with you. Some of you have tasted our library wines during our spring dinners. This is an opportunity for you to taste and purchase.
We will offer three wines to taste and purchase; the supply is limited.  The tasting is free to Bookcliff Select club members.
